PREVIOUS WORKSHOPS INCLUDE

5 STEPS TO CREATING AN ACCESS AND INCLUSION PLAN

“I want to be an inclusion champion, but where do I begin?”

In this workshop, we will take a deep dive into what it looks like to create an access and inclusion plan that is flexible, attainable, and sustainable. Through a combination of lecture, breakout groups, and Q and A, we will work together to build or re-vamp a Disability Inclusion Plan. Participants will receive an Inclusion Planning Workbook, which will give everyone the tools to begin the work, further their current efforts, and circle back to the basics when challenges arise.

INSIDE THE AUDITION ROOM: HOW TO CREATE AN INCLUSIVE ENVIRONMENT

We are quick to work on audience inclusion and access efforts, but we are left with many questions when we consider artist access.

Accessibility means simply letting artists with disabilities in the door. True inclusion means creating audition environments where ALL artists feel a sense of belonging. This interactive presentation will equip you with new ideas and free ways you can create inclusive audition and rehearsal environments starting right now. We will dispel the myths that inclusion is too hard or too costly. It is time to create and support art that mirrors all the people who support it. It is time audition room inclusion is a non- negotiable.

ADA30: BUILDERS OF INCLUSION

The ADA turned 30…now what?

July 26th, 2020 marked 30 years since the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act.  It is important to pause and acknowledge the work that has been done in the disability inclusion space, and use this work as momentum to propel us forward. We must see the ADA as a starting point, not a finish line. In this workshop, we will dive into disability history, “etiquette,” and ways to show up as an ally and/or advocate for the disability community.

SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS

I am also happy to speak to your organization via webinar or keynote.

Once we get clear on the inclusion changes you seek to make and how I can help you make them, I will put together a speaking/workshop proposal.
