Have you ever asked someone, "How are you?" and they respond with the things they are doing?
For example, "How are you?" "Well, I am working on this show"....or "I have this big presentation at work." These answers miss the mark, and most of us have likely answered this way at some time or another.
This is because we, as humans, want to identify with what has happened to us instead of what is inside of us.
Most people live as a product of their experiences, rather than living into core values. It's certainly easier. Making decisions based on core values, while whole-hearted and necessary, is often hard. But it is necessary in our continuous evolution as people.
Identifying 24-7 with what has happened to us keeps us stuck. Living into the potential inside of us keeps us moving forward. What is inside of us is beautiful and messy, and most of us had to work hard to uncover and nurture all that internal stuff. So then we sure as hell better live into it.
Live into your courage, your whole-heartedness, your compassion, your faith, your optimism. Live into what's inside.
