the long haul

I am going to keep this short and sweet.

Friends, especially white friends, remember that the work of an ally, advocate, or activist is the work of a marathoner, not a sprinter.  Pause.  Think. How will I be showing up for my Black friends and the Black community in six months? In a year?  For the rest of my life?  The world needs you to keep going.

Many of us are showing up with more fervency than ever before, amplifying Black voices, learning, sharing, engaging.  This is great, AND beware of burnout.

Learn, listen, speak-up, take part in brave conversations…re-charge, pause…and show up again and again and again.  This world needs allies, advocates, and activists that are committed for the long-haul.
